Catch your breath on British Columbia's Sea to Sky Gondola
Ascend into heavenly views on the wonderful Sea to Sky Gondola.
A hugely popular stop-off along one of the world’s premier drives (Highway 99, otherwise known as the Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver to Whistler), the Sea to Sky Gondola is perhaps the easiest and most pleasant way to reach the summit of one of Canada’s prettiest mountains.
Nestled in the Stawamus Chief Provincial Park and leaving from a base next to the Howe Sound, the gondola elevates sharply, taking you to 300 metres above sea level after only the first minute of travel.
Over the next nine stunning minutes of the ride you’ll glide to an elevation of 885 metres, disembarking at a viewing platform with jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Goat Ridge, the Howe Sound Fjord, and the seemingly never-ending Coast Mountain Range.
From there you must check out the dizzying Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, as well as the many kilometres of intricate walking tracks and a café that will fuel you for your onward journey.
