Review: Hotel Cipriani, Venice, Italy
Hotel Cipriani, Venice, Italy was ranked #7 in our countdown of the 100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the World.
“Classic Italy, superb food, impeccable service” Kirstie Clements
Skimming across the Grand Canal on the hotel’s sleek, private launch is both a privilege and playful.
Interiors (including the 15th-century Palazzo Vendramin) are aristocratically Venetian – pastel-hued, frescoed ceilings, silk brocade and jewel-like Murano glass.
But the hotel’s Giudecca Island location provides resort-like seclusion with plenty of activities to distract from Venice’s cultural demands and thronging crowds.
French designer Michel Jouannet’s recent revamp ensures plenty of polish in guestrooms and suites.
The Fortuny Restaurant is formal, even a tad fusty, but Il Gabbiano is lively and Il Cip’s sparkly Piazza San Marco views are spellbinding. Truly La Serenissima.
