Crillon Le Brave, Provence, France
Ranked #86 in our countdown of the 100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the World.
In a perfect little pocket of Provence, Crillon Le Brave embraces seven 15th-century hilltop village houses linked by winding alleys, bridges and courtyards.
Stone buildings with shuttered windows, roses and wisteria are surrounded by a sun-splashed patchwork of rolling hills. The charming houses boast authenticity, elegance and insouciance. There are leisurely pursuits (biking, boules, sunning by the pool) and a mini spa, but food and wine take centre stage.
Chef Jérôme Blanchet’s fine-dining restaurant is very fine indeed and the more casual Bistrot 40K showcases the local area’s bountiful produce from local truffles, cheese and oil to a crisp Ventoux rosé.
