82. Brody House, Budapest, Hungary
Ranked #82 in our countdown of the 100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the World.
“Really creative and exciting and exemplifies how a true boutique hotel should be.” Juliet Kinsman
Brody House is a refuge for hipsters, creative types and anyone wanting to tap into Budapest’s cultural zeitgeist.
Staying here gives you access to the exclusive Member’s Club events – art exhibitions, parties and book readings. Most spaces are light-filled with parquetry floors, the rich patina of age and funky décor (a gold free-standing bath here, grand piano there).
Guestrooms are named after Brody House artists whose works line the walls. An in-house chef (there’s no restaurant) will whip up something simple (Hungarian goulash, perhaps?) and an honesty bar operates after dark – take your drink in the charming courtyard.

Did you know The 1850s Brody House shabby-chic interior draws its inspiration from the oh-so-cool ‘Ruin Pubs’ of Budapest. The term describes a booming local movement where pubs are set up in abandoned buildings with eclectic décor.
