14. Blackberry Farm, Tennessee, USA
Ranked #14 in our countdown of the 100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the World.
Blackberry Farm is all back-to-nature bliss, 4200 acres of verdant rolling hills with matchless views of the fog-draped Smoky Mountains.
Fresh air fiends can go white-water rafting, mountain biking, trail riding or fly fishing but it’s the farming, foraging and ‘Foothills Cuisine’ that make this a serious foodie heaven.
Meals are served in an 18th-century Amish red barn and it’s all paddock-to-plate goodness (heirloom veggies, wild flower honey, crafted cheeses – a team of artisans make, bake and brew on site).
Culinary classes, wine and beer tasting also happen here. The rooms are divinely comfortable and properly posh.
